This Is What The Miami Heat Players Get Paid

In case you’ve been wondering, here’s a complete chart of the salaries of the entire Miami Heat for this year and the next three years. You have to take note that the blue numbers represent amounts that would be offered to the players if they choose to return and resign with the Heat.

Chris Bosh and LeBron make the same amount and lead the pack at the top of the list, and just remember that the each of the “big three” took a pay cut to be in Miami. And for Chris Andersen, his amount is will actually be about half of that number since he’s only been playing for half of the season. So look below to see what your Miami Heat are getting paid.

The Arsht Center Presents Solange Live

Solange comes to the Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall for an exclusive performance. This is part of the Arsht Center’s Live At Knight series.

The last time Solange was in Miami was for Art Basel at Bardot. With that said, she’s not in Miami often doing gigs, so this one is not to be missed.

Her EP: True is in stores now. Tickets for the concert are available to the public on June 6th.

LeBron’s Stylist, Rachel Johnson Gets With Footaction

Recently, I was recruited by Footaction to be part of their group of local tastemakers around the country and to participate in a few projects within their new #OWNIT campaign.

The first project I got a chance to preview was a segment produced with stylist to the stars of the NBA, Rachel Johnson. One of her most notable clients includes the Miami Heat’s LeBron James.

Rachel was given the task to put together a few moderately priced looks inspired by the NBA and that can be found at any Footaction store. The looks also take some inspiration to LeBron James’ footwear and post-game attire.

Vixen Workout Taking Miami By Storm

The Vixen Workout is a movement that has been buzzing in South Florida for a few months now. It even caught the attention of the Miami Heat. The classes have been expanding all over Dade County. Starting this month, they are starting to book more classes in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, West Kendall, Miami Lakes and North Miami Beach. And in July, they will be hosting their first class in New York City.

Creator Janet Jones took inspiration from her work as a professional choreographer and from the moves you see at hip-hop clubs, in videos from Beyonce and such,  she puts together a crazy 60-minute fast paced cardio session. She started with a few people and now she’s averaging over 100 people coming to each class. What’s unique, is that the entire session is done completely in heels, which according the Vixen Workout staff, it intensifies your workout by 40% and can have you lose anywhere between 500-1000 calories in just one class,

Classes are $12 at all locations. To attend, girls must RSVP through their website, capacity is reach very quickly, so its first come first serve.

Denzel Curry (of Raider Klan) balanced a full music career while still keeping to the books, and he has a diploma to show for it today! We’ve seen a surplus of individuals in the Miami music scene whom have dropped out and have not been able to graduate from high school. For musicians (regardless of genre), it’s always a constant battle trying to work out school-related issues in a demanding ‘creativity-seeking’ industry that waits on no one. Denzel Curry recently tore down a show all the way in Los Angeles with Sir Michael Rocks, Nell, JK The Rapper, Chris Travis, Eddy Baker, MTown, and much more! Congratulations to the high school graduate, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors!

DJ Obscene Schedule For June 2013

If you’ve followed DJ Obscene, then you know he’s been getting busy on the local nightlife scene for years, especially at a young age. We even interviewed him about it.

Well, here, Obscene releases his schedule for the rest of the month. A schedule that takes him from New Orleans, to D.C., Cannes (France), and Santo Domingo.

Then ending off the month is his stint at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Party at the Fountainebleau.

And you can also check Obscene every Friday and Saturday night on Y100, from 10PM to 12Midnight.

This week a new original EDM track titled “Trippin’” was released by Miami-based producer Allegro, who earlier in April, had released another of his original house tracks. Under the alias of Allegro, Julian Beatz, who’s name has been popping up frequently for his versatility in producing, joined in to make this funky and jumpy track. It’s  sure to make fans shake a bone … or two. Listen below:

Curtis Williams of Atlanta’s Two-9 collective finally had the opportunity to drop the visuals to the “Bare Essentials” record that features Broward’s very own, Robb Bank$. The video was shot in Atlanta, but the connection was made early on right at home in South Florida. The crew is styled in established streetwear brands such as Fuct (which is seen heavily throughout the video), Dertbag, as well as a small taste of A Bathing Ape. Cameo’s in the visuals include Two-9′s FatKidsBrotha, Key!, Reese and Sean Bang (DJ for Robb Bank$). The production for “Bare Essentials” is handled by Childish Major, the man responsible for Rocko’s biggest hit yet, “U.O.E.N.O”.

Nike SB and MIA Skateshop’s 10th Anniversary Dunk

MIA Skateshop releases a teaser of their upcoming collaboration release with Nike SB.  Celebrating ten years of existence, MIA Skateshop is kicking with a tradition colorway for their tenth anniversary collabo.

From the photo above, you can the typical Dolphins colorway, mixed with dark blue accents and a palm-tree laced Nike SB logo.

No release date yet, but soon as we have it, along with any other photos – we’ll most definitely post it.

Water Spout Video Footage In Florida Keys

This video recently popped up last week showing this man filming the formation of a water spout just south of Bahia Honda in the Florida Keys. He films the water spout while its forming in the water. And then he gets into his car to film the water spout going over his car that’s stationery on the Overseas Highway to the Keys.

Update On The Iceberg/MMG Situation?

If you remember, last year we posted an interview the Miami New Times did with Ice Berg and in the article, Berg said that his deal with Trick Daddy and company expired in March of 2013.

Well, that was two or three months ago. So that could only mean that Iceberg has been free for a while now. And now, judging by the above photo of him holding an MMG-studded phone, it looks like that deal is confirmed or really close. The caption to the photo also read “hella plays in motion”. And with Ice Berg putting in tons of work developing his Live House brand, we’re sure he has a little bit of negotiating muscle on his behalf as well.

We hope things are worked out in Iceberg’s favor. He definitely deserves it after years of being in label limbo. More details as we get ‘em.

Shoe Gallery Uses Vine To Announce Winners of “MVP” Raffle

Shoe Gallery is our favorite local spot to get sneakers, and we’ve made that pretty abundantly clear with our dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of stories that we’ve posted about them since starting the blog years ago. One thing that we always like is that they pay very close attention to detail for the in-store displays and they always treat you like family no matter who you are. But what they also do well is that they definitely try to change things up every couple of months and try new methods of marketing to promote customer interaction.

Last week, Shoe Gallery was handing out raffle tickets all week long to customers so they could be eligible to purchase a pair of the new and highly coveted Nike LeBron X “MVP” sneaker that was set for a Friday May 31st release date.

Usually, Shoe Gallery would take a blow horn and yell out the numbers outside the store, the morning of the release. Or even give a call to the winners. But this time, they used rising social network, Vine, to announce each of the winners one-by-one. Not sure if they were technically the first sneaker store to do this, but its still definitely a unique way to do things. Not only that, but it also promotes activity and interaction on Shoe Gallery’s Vine account, as well as their other Twitter and Instagram profiles that also benefit from the interaction.  J. Cole Dollar & A Dream Tour in Miami (Secret Show)

J. Cole has his album Born Sinner coming out June 18th, which is the same day as Kanye, and to support the album, he just announced his Dollar & A Dream Tour that kicks off in Miami on Tuesday June 11th. The tour is supported by D’usse and Roc Nation.

The venue however for the Miami show and the rest of shows that are part of the 10-city tour, are being kept secret. So in essence, they are secret shows. But the best part is that the cost to get in to the show is $1 per ticket (first come first serve).

So it looks like you’re going to have to stick to J. Cole’s Twitter account on the days leading up to June 11th, to see where in Miami he’s going to perform. But soon as we know something though, we’ll let you know. Click below for the entire tour date schedule.
