Yahoo has confirmed that it will pay over $1.1 billion for Tumblr in an almost-all-cash deal and they basically said that they promised to “not to screw it up.” Creator David Karp is 26, is walking away with an estimated $275 Million from the deal.He started Tumblr when he was 21 back in 2007.

Many Tumblr die hards are going crazy and predicting that Tumblr might go the Facebook route and totally put profits over usability. While Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer took to Tumblr herself to ease users and to post the GIF below. More news on this later as this will most definitely be an on going story.

The First 48, which has documented many crime investigations in some of Miami’s inner city neighborhoods, has announced the Miami Police Department has officially cut ties with the popular reality show. The Miami PD has stated the show has and might be interfering with ongoing investigations. Also in the reasoning for conflict, the Miami PD wanted the show’s producers to donate $10,000 per episode to charity.

The show’s first two cases were in 2004, set in Coconut Grove and Little Havana. In all, 113 Miami cases have been featured on The First 48. Among the notable ones: the 2005 kidnap-torture-murder of Miami drug dealer Jesus Discua, the 2006 crossfire slaying of 9-year-old Sherdavia Jenkins in Liberty City, and the 2010 slaying of a state corrections officer and her 2-year-old son.

“The Miami detectives in many ways are a reflection of the city itself,” said Kim. “Miami is a very colorful city and the detectives tend to be much more open and demonstrative about their jobs, about their feelings and who they are. Also, it certainly helps that the setting is beautiful and sunny. There are not many other cities that look like Miami.”

Critics complain that the show focuses too much on African American neighborhoods, depicting them as lawless. They also say that distracts detectives from solving murders, reveals police investigative techniques and causes complications when cases go to criminal court.

“I felt they were shooting intimate detective work,” said victims rights advocate Queen Brown, who has often complained to elected leaders about The First 48. “I don’t want the criminal watching the TV program and knowing how he can beat the rap. I don’t see anything beneficial in the show.”

So over the weekend a lot of Kanye news started filtering out. So in a nut shell, here’s all of it in bullet point form.

1) His album is officially called Yeezus. The album cover is above, and you can click here to pre-order the album, which drops June 18th.

2) He performed on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Two new songs: “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead’. Both are very dark, so it seems that they are a precursor of what to expect on Yeezus. Click here to stream the performances live on NBC’s website.

3) And on Friday, Kanye pulled off a very creative marketing ploy to debut the video of “New Slaves” by projecting it across buildings all over the world. Most of the screenings went off without any problems, EXCEPT, the Miami Beach ones which left tons of Yeezy fans upset when Miami Beach Code Compliance officers shut down the productions before the events even started. No word if an alternate location was found as rumors were spreading about them moving the projections to another side of the city or even over the bridge in Wynwood or the American Airlines Arena.

Flagler Street in Downtown Miami, Olympia Theater In The Background

Here’s a photo of Flagler Street in the 1940′s era. You can see the streets are heavily populated and full of traffic. Other details in the photo include seeing the Olympia Theater all the way in the background of the photo, so that indicates that the photographer was pointed east. You also see the Trolley system and tacks with cars navigating along with it. And then you also see that Flagler Street is a one way street at this point in history.

Dwyane Wade At Nicole Muxo’s Prom

Well, remember Nicole Muxo, the local girl asked Dwyane Wade to the prom? Well, she hadn’t really heard from him in all this time since putting out the video, but that all changed last night.

Dwyane Wade and his team surprised her at the La Jolla Ballroom in Coral Gables for Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School’s prom.

“She actually DM’d me on Twitter and said, ‘This is the address, this is where I’m gonna be just in case,’ and when I got that I said I won’t be doing nothing tomorrow night and I can go and make this a memorable moment for her,” said D-Wade.

“I’m gonna remember it forever. This was my highlight of my senior year,” said Nicole.

Nicole actually had a date with her (her plan B date, lol), but that didn’t make things awkward at all as they all laughed it off and had a good time talking and taking photos. See the video report below courtesy of CBS4 and NBC6.
