In similar fashion to Ghostface & Raekwon (of the Wu-Tang Clan), OTW’s Flight Williams and Rell decided to add their own personal flavor to the classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… debut single, “Heaven & Hell”. We’ve seen this Miami collective dig in the hip-hop archives before with the Raw mixtape, which was also complemented by production from Flaco Royale. It’s always nice to reminisce on past records that have had a monumental influence on the artists of today. The OTW members seem to know their history but most importantly, they understand their position in the big picture of all things hip-hop.

Miami has been pumping out underground acts at impressive rates, and each one seem to have their own way of expressing their creativity. A 20 year-old Miami native named Moth, liberated the visuals to “Sheepgoat” (directed by FXRBES). The lyrics are as cryptic as can be, but it’s the video that will have you uneasy each time you decide to play it back. The style is definitely fluid and fresh for a new-er artist out of Dade County, plus we have the Shadow Klan to look forward to in the immediate future. Not many more details are going to be disclosed on Moth this early on, so we might as well keep the shadowy presence going strong.
“Ya, you gotta understand … that everythings not sweet as gold, hard to embrace the rain, but at the end, everything will grow.” This upcoming group known as TeamPhlyte, signed with Flo Rida’s Label IMG/StrongArm, dropped a new track earlier today to start this week off right. Featuring Twelve’Len and produced by Julian Beatz, the track is smooth and with its lyrical flow, you can catch yourself definitely vibing out to it. Listen below:
After releasing two solid projects last year, Morera EP and Arthur EP, Art Morera finally felt it was time to grace stages across Florida. Last week, Art Morera pinnacled his 12:00AM tour in Miami and made his way up to Orlando and back to wrap up his five show tour. Morera has released recap footage of the tour along with a new exclusive freestyle.
Most recently, Morera has placed a vlog up on his ArtMoreraTV channel, connected with recording artist Quest for a feature, and has even conducted his own short film “12 to 12” based on a self-depiction of a local artist balancing between his personal life and his aspiring career as a recording artist.

Miami Beach native Kat Dahlia took to Soundcloud to release a new track by the name of “Fireman” produced by Cinematic. Kat’s debut album, My Garden is due in September on Vested in Culture / Epic Records.
Here are a couple proposed routes for an extension of the 836 Expressway along Southwest Miami-Dade county that MDX is discussing and holding hearings about.
Purple Route: Non-Starter. It traverses residential areas along SW 137th Ave from the current terminus of SR 836 at NW 12th ST/SW 137th Ave to The southeast corner of Tamiami Executive Airport. The North Kendall residents are very vocal and worse for politicians: They Vote!
Red Route: Traverses Urban Development Boundary (UDB). Environmentalists will be up in arms. Miccosukee Tribe may support the effort if they buy off on the value of an entrance/exit to their casino. If not, they will align with the Environmentalists and Farmers and this route will be doomed from the get go.
Blue Route: The most cumbersome route going in a southwesterly direction along the UDB until it aligns with Krome Avenue. This may be the path of least resistance but will be challenged by the Farmers and Environmentalists alike as it will bring urban sprawl to the western part of the county nearest to the Everglades.

LeBron, Dwyane and some other teammates took to the beach this past weekend while awaiting for the Pacers to wrap up the Knicks on Saturday. The players took to Miami Beach and greeted fans while soaking in the sun and enjoying their few days off.
The Heat begin Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals this Wednesday night at 8PM.
Dwyane Wade did show up to Nicole Muxo‘s prom this past Friday and the internet went nuts. Well, D-Wade and his crew released a video of the event from the perspective of D-Wade and his cameramen. Press play.
Well, Memorial Day Weekend is a few days away and Miami Beach cops are ready to make sure that the beach can be made into a police-state if they need to. The last previous years have seen a decline in attendees of what has been labeled “Urban Beach Weekend”, with less and less people coming every year and finding alternate places to vacation and party. Even the nightclubs have reduced their importance on the weekend, as in the past, their event lineups were announced a month or two ahead of time with big budget hosts on the bills. This year? Not so much. Its three to four days before, the events are supposed to start to roll out, and its like pulling teeth to find these events for our yearly Event Guide.
CBS4 recently put out a story detailing that cops are prepared to get busy if need be.
“We’re very prepared,” Lt. Julio Yero told CBS 4′s Lauren Pastrana.
“There’s a unified effort with a lot of agencies. We have a lot of personnel involved,” he explained. “We feel very prepared for any situation.”
Memorial Day weekend 2012 was a stark contrast to 2011, when gunshots sent revelers scattering for safety.
Ocean Drive will be reserved for pedestrians, and a traffic loop will be in effect along Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue on South Beach between 7pm and 7am.
While most business owners appreciate the influx of visitors, some say the traffic changes work against them.
Last year, police made more than 300 arrests.
They hope their proactive approach will mean even fewer people in cuffs this time around.
On Friday the 24th, cops will once again set up a DUI checkpoint on the causeways entering the beach.
Through the weekend, they’ll use license plate readers to quickly root out stolen cars or owners with outstanding felony warrants.
So long story short, if you’re a local, unless you want to deal with all the bullshit that comes with license plate scanners, checkpoints and potential racial profiling – stay the hell home or go somewhere on the West Coast of Florida to enjoy yourself.
