Amar’e Stoudemire is officially a member of the Miami Heat. Micky, Nicky, Riles and Spo’ have concluded the free agency craziness (D-Wade saga, Winslow surprise, and other re-signings) with the signing of the former Knick baller and current South Florida resident. Though, Amar’e isn’t the player he once was – he will make a great addition to the Heat’s bench for a nice discount.
The contract was officially signed for one-year/$1.5 million.
Oh and our prediction? Consensus in the305 circle of trust is that the Heat will be in the Eastern Conference Finals for sure. Overtaking Cleveland? We can only hope, but it doesn’t seem likely as LeBron (and his luxury-tax payin’ team) are poised to do some heavy conditioning in the off-season to defend his name and honor from another failure in the finals.
Here’s a photo of the actual signing tweeted and Instagrammed by the Heat’s social media team.
