It was a family affair this past Sunday night as Most Incredible Music Group recording artist Tosh Alexander celebrated the release of her “Worth The Wait” EP. Apartment 606 nestled in the heart Miami’s lavish Art District played host to the the celebration, which boasted DJ’s D-Up and Fly Guy on the one’s and two’s as well as 99 Jamz own Felisha Monet on the mic. Miami based celebs like Cool & Dre, Popeye Caution, Poe Boy Music Group founder E-Class, Jo’zzy, Zoey Dollaz, Kent Jones and more all came out to show Tosh love.
After DJ Fly Guy and Felisha Monet warmed up the crowd, Tosh strutted onto the stage with confidence and talent way beyond her years. Opening with a acoustic rendition of “Right On Time,” a track off Worth The Wait, Alexander hyped up the receptive crowd immediately. As she sang the first line of the infectious chorus, the crowd threw up their hands and sang along to every word on the track that introduced the world to the singer last year. Alexander immersed herself into her performance, continuously expressing her gratitude for the support, and the crowd fed the energy right back to her.
Claps and cheers abound as the Tosh championed through other tracks, including the Cool & Dre produced “No Other,” which is arguably one of the best tracks off the record. In these quiet moments are where her vocal talent truly shines–her ability to sing softly and emotionally and the notes she can hold as the end of tracks are especially impressive. As the crowd grooved to the set, Alexander had the biggest grin on her face, almost as if she was surprised about the crowd’s reaction to her stellar performance. With joy filling up every corner of the in room, Tosh closed the set with my personal favorite, “Cuz It’s You.”
Though the singer have only been around for a few years, what’s so refreshing about Tosh’s sound is that it captures both elements of seductiveness and innocence that is simply R&B at its best. At this rate and with her talent, the sky’s the limit for Tosh Alexander.
