THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF MIAMI-DADE
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has been serving youth in the community since 1940. What once was a single building and site for boys has grown to five locations serving 10,000 boys and girls year round, providing programs in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, cultural arts and sports, fitness and recreation. Club staffing, initiatives, and programs are designed to inspire and enable young people and provide them with the resources to succeed and share in the American Dream. The proceeds raised from the Jon Jay FMSbonds Celebrity Bowling Challenge will directly support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Project Learn After-School Program. Project Learn is designed to engage and encourage at-risk children to achieve excellence by succeeding in school and becoming lifelong learners. Project Learn is designed to provide specific subject area assistance to each child individually. It is also geared toward increasing self-esteem and responsibility. The program serves members in grades K-8.
