With the rise of urban art on the streets of Miami, or specifically in the Wynwood Arts District, there are always new artists to keep an eye on and Fary “Junkyard” Charles is definitely one to watch. Charles was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and has spent his whole life in South Florida.
Going to school in Miramar High and eventually getting accepted into New World School of Arts in Downtown Miami, art has always been apart of his life. After spending only two semesters at New World, Charles decided to spend more of his time on his own working on himself as an artist and perfecting his craft.
All his time and hard work payed off. Junkyard is now a huge part of Miami’s street art scene, with his artwork portrayed in Wynwood and on his own Instagram page. You can see him doing a variety of portraits including of Spike Lee (above), Frida, and even a young Jay-Z, while putting his own unique painting style on them.
All artwork is available for sale, and you can take a look at his works on his Instagram page under the name @junkyard_jydk.

Sidenote: He designed the artwork for #305LiveA3C artist Ice Berg, for his latest mixtape, Damage Is Done (also pictured below).
