The man behind the vision is Tony Cho, CEO of Wynwood real estate firm Metro 1. The park was the winner, and is a product of an international competition sponsored by Cho himself.
With 238 submissions including countries like Spain, Germany, and Australia, it was 305 natives that took the winning submission. Let’s all agree, Miami does it better. The idea behind this new Greenhouse park is to have it’s visitors get the feel of an urban environment, while at the same time enjoying what Wynwood is all about – some good art.
The best part about the the decision to build this Greenhouse park, is that it was a unanimous one. The local winning team was chosen by a blind jury. Wynwood continues to thrive as neighborhood here in Miami, and it continues to illuminate the unique city that we live in. We’re really looking forward to this project and really excited to see how it’ll amplify the area in itself.
When the park will be up and ready to visit is still not certain, but it’ll be located at 2825 NW Second Ave (currently a parking lot). In the meantime, we’ll sit back and patiently wait till we can go grab some Panther Coffee and sit back and enjoy this new location.
