First, Miami’s Best Pizza is closing and now this. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, so we’ll give you the good news first. Although Miami’s oldest bar is coming to a shutdown, it is relocating as well as renovating.
After 102 years of service to it’s booze-loving patrons, Tobacco Road is closing it’s doors at it’s original location. Due to ongoing construction in the area around the bar, the clientele traffic for the bar itself had declined over the years. The staff and ownership felt it was time for an upgrade.
The bar is set to close down on October 25, when they will be having a farewell party till bar close time – 5 a.m the next day. Just because they’re closing up, doesn’t mean they’re toning it down. As far as their food, Tobacco Road will continue to serve it’s food via food trucks.
It’s sad to see the original spot go, but with all the change, the image will remain the same. Within the next few weeks, ownership will disclose their new location. For now, all we can do is continue to support this iconic bar’s original location until their new doors open in the future.
