Edson Jean and Joshua Jean-Baptiste, graduates of the New World School of Arts, are well on their way to creating the first TV show dramedy about Haitian-Americans in Miami.
This show which they have named #Josh, follows the protagonist of the show, Josh, an abandoned Haitian American male while he tries to search for acceptance in this crazy city that is Miami with his chauvinistic, problematic cousin Wes at his side.
Earlier this year, Edson and Joshua organized a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $2,600 in order for them to create a “sizzle reel” which they could hand out to various networks like MTV, HBO or Netflix. In the 14 days that the Kickstarter campaign was running, the duo managed to not only meet their goal of $2,600 but pass it with the final amount of raised money being $3,392.
Thanks to those who donated and with the help of Miami based 5k Productions, the “sizzle reel” has been shot, edited and will soon be posted for the world to see. If you want to take a look at #Josh or help spread the word about it, you can view their Facebook for more information by clicking below…
