Howard Stern looks like he likes it so much better down south that he plans to make a decision to move into his Palm Beach home full time. The Sirius/XM radio star has made 10 million dollars in renovations to his 52 million dollar house – making sure the world gets that he is staying down here for good. When Stern, a high income taxpayer moves down, it tells you a whole lot more than just him liking the weather.
Even though Stern could use a tan, rumor has it that Stern enjoys how Florida is income tax free and it shows with the steps he took in homesteading his property a priority. Coming from New York, Stern might be luring a pack of Wall Street brokers that are also tired of the Mayor, Bill de Blasio, and his new policies that include additional taxes. It may look like South Florida might be having quite an array of other interesting individuals.
And how would Stern still do his radio show if he moves down here? Well, there’s three options. One, he will fly up to New York for the three days of the show on the weeks he’s on air. Two, he’d build a studio in his home or at a local location and broadcast from it just like Rush Limbaugh does from his Palm Beach warehouse studio. Or three, Howard may just retire and not renew his contract with Sirius/XM that expired in late 2015.
Regardless of all the crazy news stories we sometimes get, South Florida really is turning into a mecca of influential people and even though there’s a county between us and West Pal, the 305 will welcome the legendary Howard Stern if an when he decides to move down here full time.
