I’ve been seeing and hearing about Devon Seafood & Steak for a while now and was always intimidated because of the “high-end” pricing it appears to have while being located in a not so high-end neighborhood its in.Its located in Kendall in the Town & Country area near the Chase Bank side of the shopping center. Its also a chain restaurant with other locations open in other cities so it has that “corporate” kind of feel versus a one-of-a-kind type vibe. We got a chance to try the restaurant out this past weekend and we were pleasantly surprised.
Devon is definitely a decent place to try out at least once, especially if you’re a native to the Kendall area just to see what’s in your backyard. However, you’re looking at $50-70 for a nice steak dinner, a side, appetizer and a drink. In the case of September dining, you also have their Miami Spice menu that you can take advantage of to offset the pricing a little and save yourself a couple bucks while enjoying full-sized samples from each of their courses.
And while the steaks they serve are of top-notch quality, as are the sides – we couldn’t help but fall in love with this nice lil’ appetizer you see pictured above. The BBQ Roaster Duck Flatbread. At $10, this appetizer is all the rage. Ingredients include fig barbeque sauce, fontina, provolone, gorgonzola, red onion, granny smith apples and thyme vinaigrette. But that fig barbeque sauce really seals the taste and the rest of the flavors. I’d recommend you just going to Devon for this alone although they’d probably look at you a little crazily if you did so.
