We’ve had a few memories of Jumbo’s throughout the years. Including the filming of DJ Khaled’s “Born & Raised” that brought out not only the whole city, but tons of the biggest names in hip-hop circa 2006.
And back in the 1960s when Jumbo’s was a newly established restaurant, the Flam family were one of the first restaurants to hire and serve black workers. A monumental step in pushing forward with equality during the civil rights movement days.
But it was announced today that July 23, 2014 will indeed be the very last day you can eat a meal at the NW 7th Avenue Liberty City staple. On a sorta’ positive note, the restaurant was sold to make room for more affordable housing in the area that the restaurant currently sits in.
Jumbo’s will most definitely be missed!
