You might be familiar with Lokal. We named their chicken & waffles the best of the year. Well now, you can get that dish at another spot – Kush. Located on a less than charming Wynwood corner, Kush brightens up the neighborhood with their dimly lit locale that upon walking in seems like the kind of place you want to begin a weird night in.
The motto here is “cheap beer ain’t good and good beer ain’t cheap.” Matt Kuscher and David Gonzalez live by these rules and are aiming to have the best craft beer selection in all the land, of South Florida that is. Corky touches like menus printed on brown paper bags with coasters inside and dishes like the hobo frito pie, which tops homemade chili with shredded cheddar, white onions and some good ol’ fritos make Kush different than its predecessor.
The menu is much of the same, drawing all of Lokal’s crazy popular burgers and adding a couple of munchies you’ll want after some of the other kush. A grilled gruyere cheese and sliced tomato sandwich is served alongside tomato soup for dunking. Savory old-bay alligator bites keep things local with Florida alligator.
For dessert, there’s more beer and a Kush brownie (because, duh), accompanied with a glass of milk and a side of greens. Relax, we mean mint, so you can freshen up that breath.
