I remember a time where any of DJ Khaled’s records would get either banned from rival radio stations (103.5 and Power) or his actual name would get muted out of songs that shouted out his name. So either this is a big step in getting passed that immature bullshit, or 99 Jamz and Khaled have officially parted ways. Or maybe Khaled has just grown beyond being pigeonholed to one station and is showing love to everyone now. But with 103.5 constantly sending shots to 99 Jamz, you can’t help by wonder what’s really going on.
Either way, 103.5 The Beat is coming out strong with that Clear Channel support and have announced the return of their annual Beatdown Concert and have quite the lineup to come support. Its like our very own Hot 97 Summer Jam on a smaller scale. It all goes down June 12, 2014 at the BB&T Centre in Sunrise.
The lineup (so far) includes performances by Kendrick Lamar, Trey Songz, Future, Rico Love, Yo Gotti, Mr. Vegas and the infamous DJ Khaled.
“I am very excited about this show. We have been on tour for the last month and it is good that the people continue to listen to my music,” said Mr. Vegas. “This concert is another way for me to reach new fans and continue opening doors for Dancehall Music”.
So lets see if the DJ Khaled billing sticks and its a positive move towards ending the little back and forth jabs between local stations.
