There’s been various news bulletins on talks about a “Bay Link” or a “rail system” that would connect Downtown Miami and South Beach. This is a means of transportation that has been long overdue. Aside from local positives, this would be a game changer for tourists that can now easily stay in the Miami side of town and still have a new and accommodating rail option to connect to South Beach and etc.
The proposed plan would connect from Government Center in downtown Miami into to the Miami Beach Convention Center via the MacArthur Causeway. Mayors from both the city of Miami and Miami Beach have
The costs have been estimated at about $532 million to build and over $22 million annually to maintain. Costly yes, but its funds better spent (cough, cough Marlins Park, cough cough). But the main challenge is, where is this money going to come from? Well, if the city of Miami keeps entertaining these thoughts of shutting down Ultra and its millions that it brings in to the city, then it surely won’t help solving this and other much needed expenses that need to be tackled.
Bring on the Bay Link Rail System….its long overdue!
