Overhead and bird’s eye view of I-395 looking east in Miami, August 23, 1967. This is the same incarnation of the interchange that we use and drive through today.

This was a gift and a curse. Yes, it brought a much needed highway to the area, but it also cut through one of Miami’s founding neighborhoods and displaced hundreds/thousands of families (and landowners) in predominantly black neighborhoods.
