The 2011 Nike Mag release (pictured above) was fueled with hypebeasts and rich kids getting arguably one of the sneakers of all time (then) for charity. The release was four years ahead of schedule since Back To The Future II actually mentioned 2015 as the date for the sneakers. And the real life 2011 versions, while great in design and material, they lacked the self-lacing feature that made them look so friggin’ awesome in the movie.
Well, according to Tinker Hatfield, it is confirmed that Nike is keeping its promise and they are currently putting the final touches to their self-lacing patent and will release the Nike Mag with its self-lacing might next year for 2015.
Score one for sneakerheads across the land. Now…as for price? Let’s hope it doesn’t go through the tens-of-thousands-of-dollars auction system and maybe the regular public will have a chance to own a pair at a more approachable price.
