On January 28, 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff from Cape Canaveral, killing all seven crew members. Today marks the 28th anniversary since the disaster.
A little known fact is this the above piece/sculpture by by Isamu Noguchi in Downtown Miami is actually a tribute to the horrific accident in memory of its brave crew. @ArtOfMiami posted this creative photo earlier today using a miniature space shuttle overlapped with creative perspective. Such a great photo and such an interesting fact to get reminded of.
