From tip off, the star for the Pelicans Anthony “The Brow” Davis stuck out and is reaffirming that he’s one of the most unique players we’ve seen in a while. The 20-year-old star has been tearing it up and delivering on all the predictions of his developing dominance in the basketball court. Davis showed that his skills set are a tough matchup for anyone in this league. Anthony Davis is 6-10 with a 7-3 wingspan, can handle the ball and has a very effective midrange game. Davis finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Davis was basically the only bright spot out of the Pelicans who got worked in the second half as the Heat started forcing turnovers.
The Heat by contrast have a handful of pretty decent performances from their players. Chris “Birdman” Andersen turned in his best effort of the season with a season high 15 points, 7 rebounds, a block and a steal. Wade who was doubtful before the game, turned in an impressive all around game with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Finally, LeBron anchored the team with his 32 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.
With the manhandling of the Pelicans, the Heat have now improved to a 16-3 record at home and currently have a three-way tie (Spurs, OKC) for the second best record in the NBA.
