Today marks a season milestone of sorts for Michael Beasley. The once troubled player was given an opportunity by the Heat in the off-season with a non-guaranteed contract.
However, if Beasley remains on the roster as of 5pm today (January 7th), his contract will get automatically picked up for the rest of the season. And all things point towards that being the case as Beasley is one of the highest scoring players versus players with the same amount of average minutes played in the rest of the league.
Asked by the Associated Press, what would change if his contract gets picked up for the season, Beasley responded, “still working hard, I’m not going to work any less come [5pm Tuesday].”
Great to see him turn his life and career around little and come back home to the team that picked him as the second overall pick in the 2008 draft.
