With about 3,918,000 copies sold, Pitbull’s single “Feel This Moment” with Christina Aguilera was one of the top selling songs of the year. The song is off Pitbull’s 2012 Global Warming album, but was officially released as a single on January 18, 2013. It was a worldwide hit and in April the song peaked at #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts. And for 2013, Billboard listed “Feel This Moment” at #36 on their Hot 100 chart for the entire year of 2013.
The song itself was seemingly everywhere. It was licensed and used during the NBA Playoffs and accompanying commercials. The Miami Heat used it on a few of their championship run promo videos. And the song was also used on a commercial for NBC’s The Voice, which Christina Aguilera is on as one of the judges.
Its a very uplifting hook with an upbeat backdrop that uses and incorporates a sample from 80’s hit “Take on Me” by A-ha. And Pit keeps it real with his Miami roots by shouting out the “305” and Dade County” at the beginning of the first verse. Again, another clear pice of evidence that Pitbull is and will be one of the biggest artists to ever come out of Miami.
