1920s Photograph Of The Alta Vista Hotel And The Famous Postcard It Was Used For

This is a pretty famous image that was used on many postcards promoting the Miami area. It shows the Alta Vista Hotel in its prime during the 1920’s. “Alta Vista” means “high view” or a view from a high altitude in spanish.

Its architecture is definitely unique for the era and location that it was built in. And you could somewhat see the hotel’s name on the rooftop but its a little hard to read due to the angle.

There’s not much info on the hotel available online, other than the fact that the manager of the hotel was a man by the name of Geo N. Green.

We’ll update this post if and when we’re able to get more info.
