GALE SOUTH BEACH GETS BRAINWASHED FOR ART BASEL IN MIAMI BEACH
Prominent Miami-based hospitality group Menin Hotels will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its acclaimed property Gale South Beach during Art Basel 2013 with a pop-art takeover by the attention getting Thierry Guetta, better known as Mr. Brainwash.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with such a prolific artist for our second year participating in Art Basel,” said Menin Hotels Managing Principal Jared Galbut. “We’ve been grateful for the response the hotel has received since the opening and want to celebrate our one-year anniversary showcasing our dedication to the arts.”
From December 5th through the 8th, the 87-room boutique hotel will become host to multiple large-scale, custom oil paintings as well as an exterior wallscape highlighting Mr. Brainwash’s traditional yet out-of-the-box uses of familiar popular culture images and bright colors. There will also be surprises unique to the guests staying at the hotel as well as throughout the property.
“Life is beautiful,” said Guetta, who is happy to return and take South Beach on another adventure for Art Basel. The collection will be available for viewing at Gale South Beach daily, 24 hours a day. In addition, Menin Hotels has reached out to its neighboring hotels to spread the Mr.Brainwash mania throughout Collins Avenue.
The 1826 Collins parking garage will also be featuring a custom wallscape while familiar art forms created by Mr. Brainwash will be found at the Shore Club and Catalina Hotel. Guests can voyage to surrounding properties to see these the full collection of pieces via the new “Mobile by Menin” electric car that will begin its operations during Art Basel.
