Sun Life Stadium erupted as Ryan Tannehill celebrated the Miami Dolphins’ comeback win that rallied them past the Atlanta Falcons 27-23. 22-year old rookie tight end Dion Sims made his first catch in his NFL career that actually ended up being a game-winning touchdown (with less than 38 seconds left on the board). As the Dolphins stand on top of the AFC East tied with the New England Patriots, there is much relief to fans who feel secure with their franchise quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. Although Steven Jackson was out with a thigh injury, the Falcons were still very much effective in their run-game with Jacquizz Rodgers (86 yards on 18 carries) and Jason Snelling leading the charge. The win over the Falcons on Sunday wasn’t exactly an easy one (Dolphins trailed nearly the entire game), but it wasn’t as sloppy as some doubters may have assumed. Tannehill ended up finishing the game with 236 yards and two touchdowns, despite suffering from five sacks and over two turnovers.
The Miami Dolphins hit the road to New Orleans to face off against the (3-0) Saints next Monday, 9/30.
THE BOTTOM LINE: It’s official folks, The Miami Dolphins are 3-0 for the first time since 2002.
