[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”People’s BBQ (Overtown)” image=””]

People’s BBQ is an Overtown landmark. It absolutely DOES NOT look like a BBQ spot from the outside, but trust us, it is. They have a mustard based BBQ sauce recipe so if that’s not your thing, then People’s is not for you. But if it is your thing, then this is your holy grail. Fast service and a huge menu with lots of options.

Recommended Dishes: Their Cornbread is to die for, The 1/2 and 1/2 Ribs & Chicken Meal, and if you want something non-BBQ yet super cheap, get their simple hamburger/cheeseburger for under $2.00. And for some southern style sugary lemonade, they have that covered for ya.

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”T&W Subs & BBQ (Cutler Bay)” image=””]

Full disclosure: T&W is a sub shop primarily and a BBQ spot on the secondary. However, they made it on to the list because of four reasons. First, their food is great, which is first and foremost. Second, their customer service is incredible and the owner always jokes around and makes customers feel great. Third, they have FAST service like no other. And lastly, their in-house BBQ sauce may very well be the best hickory styled bbq sauce in Miami.

Recommended Dishes: The brisket, the pork nachos, the fried corn, and you can never go wrong with their natural cut fries. Oh and you MUST try their nicely refrigerated Red Velvet cake.

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”Fuego Lento (Kendall/Killian)” image=””]

Fuego Lento is the new kid on the block really so we know they have a lot to prove. But within that short span of time they’ve definitely left us with an impression. Their simple yet extremely flawless menu gives them such a great set-up to be one of the legendary BBQ restaurant brands of Miami’s future. And they’ve mastered their BBQ sauce recipes – they have three. Trust us, you have to give them a shot.

Recommend Dishes: The Fuego Lento Burger, St. Louis Spareribs, their Brisket, and you MUST try their Bacon Mac & Cheese. Plus, make sure you ask about their Chicken & Waffle Special that is really affordable and very delicious.

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”Mama Lucy’s All Pro Ribs (Gratigny Area)” image=””]

Mama Lucy’s is a staple of North Miami. The actual restaurant (at least the last time we went) was a little small and run down, but the food more than made up for it. The wait is a little long, especially during weekends, but the end result is worth it for some of the best BBQ you will have in your life. Be mindful of their schedule as they operate on a Wednesday to Sunday schedule.

Recommend Dishes: C’mon son…the ribs!

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”The BBQ Tents On SW 112 Avenue (Goulds)” image=””]

On any given random Friday and Saturday night, you can take a stroll along SW 112th Avenue in Goulds and run into some delicious BBQ at various tents and outposts located in the area. Just remember that most of them kinda’ operate on the whim so the schedule isn’t consistent. However, its worth the opportunity if you get a chance to try some good old fashion street-side BBQ.

Along SW 112th Avenue between 210th Street & 236th Street

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”Shiver’s BBQ (Homestead)” image=””]

Its a Homestead tradition. Over 50 years strong and still kickin’. Shiver’s is an old time BBQ spot with a great solid menu and cooking technique.

Recommend Dishes: Fried Corn, Cornbread Souffle, Fried Mac ‘n Cheese and then of course for the BBQ related stuff we suggest the Baby Back/Hot Wing platter and their Pulled Pork.

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”Bulldog BBQ & Burger (North Miami)” image=””]

Getting notoriety from his stint on the third season of Top Chef, Howie “Bulldog” Kleinberg opened up Bulldog BBQ & Burgers. Easily one of the finer easting establishments along Biscayne Blvd in North Miami, Bulldog BBQ is a must try for any BBQ connoisseur. With hints of North Carolina flavors, their menu is great on paper and even greater when you actually try it.

Recommend Dishes: Buffalo Chicken Tenders, BBQ Lettuce Wraps, Any Of Their Biscuit Dishes, and of course any of their barbecue main courses and fixins. Its all that good. Seriously.

[SINGLESP thumbnail_number=”” title=”Sparky’s Roadside BBQ (Downtown Miami)” image=””]

Located in the epicenter of Downtown Miami, Sparky’s is a cozy little spot that you have to try the next time you’re in the downtown area. While the parking is a little tricky since its Downtown, either take the plunge and pay a lot or garage to make it easy for yourself.

Recommend Dishes: Beef Brisket & Pulled Pork Combo, Southern Fried Smoked Chicken, Corn Nuggets, Waffle Fries, and definitely go with the Classic sauce BUT for a little different approach, have a side of their Apple Cider Barbecue Sauce for dipping to see if you like it.
