Burger King Worldwide, which has been based in Miami for many decades has apparently started to search for a new corporate headquarters. The company is currently located in the Blue Lagoon area near the airport, and before that, they were in a waterfront property near the Deering Estate area in Palmetto Bay.
Well times have changed and according to the Business Journal, it looks like a downsize is needed because BK is apparently not happy with their Blue Lagoon building as it’s too big – like, way 200,000 square feet big. So a possible move to the Omni Center or maybe even Midtown or Coral Gables at a worst case if Downtown prices become a little too high.
An email response from a BK spokesman did not deny the possible relocation.
“The Burger King Corporation has a long term lease in the Blue Lagoon area and has no current plans to move its headquarters,” according to a statement.
It is likely that BK officials have not spoken about the matter with staff, which explains the statement. But evidence exists that the Miami-based company is looking to move.
In other news, Burger King announced its upcoming 99-cent French Fry Burger. And even though anyone with a childlike appetite can and have always created their own “french fry burger”; Checkers actually unveiled their own french fry burger called the Fry Lover’s Burger. So how exactly is BK’s version such an innovative idea? Its not. But it hits BK locations in a couple weeks, so stay tuned.
