So I was randomly in Kendall in front of Miami-Dade College in the infamous little shopping strip that houses Sonia’s Patties and Styles Barbershop. And in the old space that used to have Natural Chicken Grill, has now been taken over by a new little fast-casual restaurant called Fuego Lento BBQ, which translates in Spanish to “slow fire” or “slow cooking”.
Fuego Lento is a new restaurant that opened officially a couple months ago. They have a very small menu, but judging by the looks of the satisfied customers in the store, everything is made to perfection.
Above you can see a couple photos I took of the Fuego Lento Burger (burger served on Texas Toast and topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, lettuce), the Bacon Mac N’ Cheese and their secret menu item: Chicken N’ Waffles, which for $6.99, are one of the most cost effective and delicious plates of Chicken N’ Waffles you’ll find in Miami. It was delicious.
Otherwise, you can expect a traditional BBQ menu with various styles of BBQ including Texas Beef Brisket, Carolina Pulled Park, St. Louis Spareribs, Smoked Turket and Pulled Chicken. Sides include onion straws, fries, baked beans, cornbread, creamy cole slaw and bacon mac n’ cheese (which I mentioned above). And lastly, a variety of sandwiches.
So its good to see a nice and simple BBQ spot in Kendall.
