If you’re looking for a Dominican Food Truck, or just Dominican food in general – you gotta hit up Chimi El Tigre. A Dominican food truck that has been sweeping West Dade and has been making more and more noise over the past few months.
They tend to frequent Hialeah, Doral and West Kendall, but they announce their daily locations via their Facebook.
The highlight of the truck is most definitely their Chimi and their variations. But their traditional Chimi (pictured above and which is basically a traditional Dominican hamburger to put it simply), is pretty outstanding. Ingredients (in spanish): pan de agua with carne de chimi, repollo y zanahoria finamente cortadas, tomates y salsa chimi de la casa. The in-house “chimi sauce” is the extra touch, and you can request for it to be put on pretty much everything they serve.
If you’re in the mood for other Dominican delicacies, they have tostones, queso frito, salchichon, sancocho, kipes (quipes) and pretty much everything except mangu. Most of it is pretty authentic, except for varied ingredients on some off nights. But for consistent goodness, we again, recommend the Chimi.
So get more information (and daily locations) on the Chimi El Tigre Food Truck on Facebook and on their website. You can also conveniently text “CHIMI” to 99000 and you’ll receive a reply with the location.
