Well, Ultra is still set to start today and take over Downtown Miami in full steam, but not without hiccups. Last night, some kind of lighting/video and/or LED fixture from the main stage fell. The accident injured a total of four workers. Two workers were initially taken to Ryder Trauma Center and listed in critical condition, but are now stable. A third was admitted and listed as stable. And a fourth injured worker was treated and released at the scene.
Ultra’s publicist released the following statement last night: “As preparations were being made for this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival, a section of an LED screen fell and injured two workers. Fire Rescue was on site so there was a rapid response. Festival organizers are working with, and supporting, authorities as they investigate the details behind the accident.”
And judging by this EarthCam, the accident occurred at about 7:49:20 PM and response units were on the scene within 2 or 3 minutes.
