I grew up with Sgt. Pepper Subs as I always was a native to the Cutler Ridge area, and seeing them move around and let go of their Cutler Ridge locale was not the best of news when we got it. But, we just got a chance to experience the brand new and improved Sgt. Peppers that opened not too far away from their original location. Its located in the Palmetto Bay area, by the Nissan dealership. And what’s great about the new location, is the fast-casual cafe styled design. You order your food and they serve it to you and keep checking up on you for refills, condiments, napkins, to-go boxes, etc. Its one notch below the full service restaurant-waiter experience, while still keeping the luster of a neighborhood sub shop.
We got invited by owner Nelson Cousa earlier this week for a chance to try a little bit of each of their menu categories. Above you see, their BBQ Steak Sub (amazing) where it really stood out because its not as greasy as your typically Steak Bomb type of sub. It was really natural tasting and very hearty. Then you have one of their many paninis, that one is actually The Campagnolo and may very well be the best thing on their menu – its packed with: chicken breast, roasted red peppers, provolone cheese, creamy pesto mayonnaise and baby lettuce. And lastly, you see a close-up of one of their pizzas: the Margherita Pizza with Roasted roma tomatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella & fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top. Again amazing.
All in all, its great to see a new version of Sgt. Peppers back in the south side of town, with an upgraded menu that has tons of variety for the whole family – including a really great Kid’s Menu.
