This is pretty neat. A project is going on called “The Purple Line Miami” which is a community-driven, collaborative, transit-oriented initiative. It is a temporary installation during the days of March 8th and March 9th, 2013. Features include many of the activities and uses common to transit stations throughout the world, such as vendors stands, cafes and street performances.
The Purple Line’s objective is two-fold:
1. Create a collaborative urban installation that makes an impactful statement about the need for improved transit and connectivity in Miami.
2. Transform an underpass space into an urban place complete with scheduled events, vendors and gathering space.
