(Miami, Florida) – A packed dance floor pumped energy through every inch of Mansion Night Club as five of the best southeast DJs dropped the beat for over 1300 party rockers. The number one party DJ contest in the world brought the heat to South Beach Miami, cheering local DJ Konflikt to victory. Resident DJ of Mansion Night Club, DJ Konflikt was less than comfortable.
“Even though I’ve spun at this club for a very long time, it was still nerve wracking to get up on stage and perform,” said Konflikt. “I couldn’t do my normal sets. I had to take my crowd to the next level.”
Next level is exactly where Konflikt went. The crowd was jumping, as Konflikt owned the stage for his fifteen-minute set; and they chanted his name, as they awaited the winner to be announced. Combined with a shirt that read “Support Local DJs”, it was clear he was the fan favorite.
“My passion for DJing comes from the way it moves people, and my inspiration comes from DJs who play things I’ve never heard before,” stated Konflikt. “I’m ready to bring a brand new set to the national finals.”
With the east coast nailed, Konflict has to ask himself “how will the west be won?” as he prepares for the national finals in LA. Judges Z-Trip, Grammy 2013 performer; A-Trak, owner of record label Fool’s Gold; and Grammy nominee Jazzy Jeff agreed that while Konflikt won the crowd, he’ll need to be ready to win the judges’ vote against the stiff countrywide competition.
“He had the crowd and he had the technical details to secure the win,” said judge Jazzy Jeff. Second place went to DJ A-Rock of Orlando, while DJ Rowshay of Charlotte took third.
32 cities across the states hosted qualifiers to hand pick the nation’s finest to advance to five Red Bull Thre3Style Regionals. Winners of the regional competitions will move on to the national final in Los Angeles on April 5. The winner of the national final will represent the USA against the best party rocking DJs on the planet during the world finals in Toronto later this year.
