As of January 1st, Florida minimum wage was raised to $7.79 per hour. Compared to last year’s $7.67 per hour. Workers who work for tips now will receive $4.77 per hour.
“I think this is good news for working people,” said Kathy Rike, a Miami resident who works as a waitress in Miami. “I think it is only fair that people who work so hard for their money should receive fair and equitable compensation for their effort.”
“This is great news for working people. For too long, those working for minimum wage had few opportunities to earn more money. I think the government realizes that people who work hard should receive fair treatment regarding their paychecks,” said Roland McCormick, a Miami resident.
