Michael Jordan was apparently banned from La Gorce Country Club on Miami Beach and was asked to leave after he refused to stop his game to change into more dress-code friendly attire. The club requires its member-players to wear collared shirts and Bermuda shorts, not the multi-pocketed cargo pants that MJ was called out for. Jordan’s rep confirmed the news and mentioned that the incident took place on the 12th hole…
“Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants . . . He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point . . . he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it’s their loss – as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest.”
Apparently, this wasn’t the first time MJ violated the dress code and this harsh punishment was a result of multiple complaints from other members in past occasions.
