Last year, production team, Mr.Familiar won producer(s) of the year right here on the305. You might not know them as Kodiak Fur, but now you do. Made up of four members (Chris, Albert, Zeus, Steve) , Kodiak Fur released an EP with four vibing, sensual songs that may take you on a trip back to a place you feel you haven’t been to in a while. Gradual coming together, and with influences coming from all over to make their music,one of the members, Christopher Thomas, told me:
“Kodiak fur is the first time we can just work on music without conforming to any one particular idea. When we get together, the music is almost effortless in the sense of creating, most of our songs come from jam sessions.”
I wonder how it must be during those jam sessions… With funky, electronic beats, Kodiak Fur will be performing at Sweat Records on November 24th. Listen below for a fantastic first taste…
