Book Synopsis: For the 28th Chapter of the Frank Book, Editor-In-Chief Frank Green went on an adventure to the land of fun, sun, and Tony Montana. But there’s much more to this cultural hub than just the clubs of South Beach, Elian Gonzalez, and the country’s most advantageous bankruptcy laws. Frank explored this Art Deco metropolis—tucked snugly in between the Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean—in hopes of getting a better understanding of what makes this city the true “Gateway to the Americas.”
In this chapter we try our hand at the local sports of shuffleboard and Jai Lai, bounce to the ass-shaking thump of Miami Booty Bass, investigate the environmental controversies surrounding the delicate Everglades, and explore the cultural legacies of unique regions such as Stiltsville and Liberty City that earn Miami the “cultural mixing pot” tag. So pack your sunscreen and binoculars and climb up into the donk, ‘cause Frank151 is taking you to the beach.
