FOOD: Esquire’s Restaurant Design of the Year: Juvia – Miami Beach, Florida

Esquire magazine did their annual ‘Best New Restaurants’ for 2012, and not surprisingly, Juvia was given the title of “Design of the Year”. With an $8 million renovation done to the ten-thousand-square-foot swanky Miami Beach penthouse located on 1111 Lincoln Road, it boasts a very interesting design. Taken to the top floor by an elevator, you are greeted by a garden wall and an amazing view of Miami Beach. It has a retractable roof on the patio and a recurring theme of purple couches. It feels like if you were eating outside but without having to worry about getting rained on.

As for the food, you will also be satisfied. After ten years at Miami’s popular restaurant, Nobu, Chef Sunny Oh has created a menu that mixes Carribbean-French and raw seafood with Pacific-Peruvian accents. Make sure to take that special lady in your life to Juvia, and you can be assured that the saying ‘Happy wife, happy life’ will still hold true.
