Last year during the 2012 NBA finals during game 5 against The Oklahoma City Thunder you have to remember the damage that Mike Miller had done knocking down 7 three pointers over a period of 23 minutes off the bench. Millers hot performance during the clinching game ensured that he would finally get his first championship ring despite going through yet another injury during the condensed lockout season.
With the rumors of Miller of calling it quits and retiring from his NBA career he insist that this year that he is feeling better and stronger these days. Miller continues to walk with his slight hunched back due to his on going back issues but still he is out there practicing with the rest of the team. “I’m pretty much doing everything,” Miller said. “I’m trying to limit myself in taking contact, but a lot of the conditioning stuff I’m able to do, limited contact and just getting out of there when it hurts too much, getting out of there before it hurts too bad. Hey, I’m practicing. That’s all I want to do right now is get through it and see how I maintain it.”
While we can’t say that Miller is 100% we can go by his word that he is feeling stronger and rehabilitated which is a good thing because we saw how deadly he can be regardless of his injuries. Also, with a full non condensed NBA season coming up Mike will be able to rest more between games. If we’ve learned anything about Mike Miller when it comes to injuries or just pain in general, its that he just deals with it. He’s had at least four surgeries since joining the Heat and we know that this year he will have the same attitude and continue to show up for the
