This is a photo of the Miami Aquarium, which was a ship slash aquarium located and docked in Bayfront Park. The ship went by the name, the Prins Valdemar and was intended to become a hotel in 1925, but it ran aground and sank in Miami’s harbour. So it was rescued and converted in the pending tourist attraction, the Miami Aquarium and opened on May 1, 1928. During World War II, tourism dropped and the ship was open to ancillary marine operations.
