ESPN chimes in with their annual NBA player ranks, and we find D.Wade listed at number 8. As a Miami Heat fan that leaves me with a bitter taste, and I am sure you taste that sour as well. D.Wade a two time NBA champion deserves to be in the top 6 at best.

Three of the Miami Heat’s All-Star’s have been ranked in ESPN’s annual player rankings, with Chris Bosh at No. 18 and Dwyane Wade at No. 8, and ultimately LeBron James will be No. 1. King James definitely deserves to be at #1 as the king finally has his crown and is hitting his prime age of 27. Bosh on the other hand is a rock solid double double guy, who can shoot from all over the floor, 18 sounds perfect for the guy. As for Wade, I do not agree with Kobe at age 50 being rated higher, and Bulls PG Derrick Rose also ahead. Rose is yet to win a ‘ship, and after coming of this knee surgery I highly doubt he will be back at top notch shape.

I will throw a little stat knowledge at you, Wade’s 2011-12 production by these metrics (26.3 PER, 55.9 eFG%, 50.6 TS%, 1.29 PPS) clearly edges that of Rose (23.0, 53.2, 47.3, 1.23) and Bryant (21.9, 52.7, 46.2, 1.21). At the end of the day rankings don’t really matter, the rings on the fingers do. I feel a repeat this season, especially with the addition of sharp shooting Ray Allen.
