OMG! Burgers
Last Thursday, President Obama stopped by OMG! Burgers, in South Miami, to grab a bite to eat. What did he order? What any American would order at a burger stop, a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Regardless, I’m pretty sure whoever was next in line told the person behind the counter “I’ll have whatever the President is having.”
After President Obama finished his meal, he took time out to discuss the importance of voting with University of Miami students who were nearby. Reports have indicated that the Secret Service did traditional check ups on the burger spot a week prior to President Obama’s luncheon. The event was still a surprise to the restaurant and their staff. A secret service agent called the restaurant 30-minutes prior to President Obama’s former arrival on Friday.
It’s great to know that we can bump into our President at a moment’s notice, even if it’s just to grab a bite to eat after a long hard day. President Obama was in town for a two-day forum sponsored by Univision and hosted by the University of Miami. The forum focused on the Hispanic demographic and issues in the education system.
