Over the weekend, EzVip and Daymond John hosted a private “Shark Tank” viewing party at Foxhole Lounge in South Beach for the ABC program’s Season 3 Finale on which EzVip made it’s reappearance. During the event, EzVip CEO, Al Nelson, announced the company’s latest partnership with international superstar Pitbull, bringing ‘Mr. Worldwide’ on board to serve as the face of the EzVip brand. Nelson also announced their plans to expand into New York City following their recent Las Vegas launch. The viewing party took place on Friday, May 18 from 7-10 p.m. and boasted several notable faces in attendance including, branding strategist Daymond John himself, editor-in-chief of Miami.com Fred Gonzalez, PR specialist Amaris Jones, Steve Slaton of the Miami Dolphins and Al Wilson of the Denver Broncos.
A little bit of a back story regarding Al Nelson and his rise with EZVIP courtesy of Miami.com:
Al Nelson always knew he had a good idea for a business. He just never knew how good it was until he pitched his start-up company – EZVIP.com – on the ABC show ‘Shark Tank’.
Nelson, 27, who grew up in Southwest Miami and graduated from Southridge High, is the Founder and CEO of the website that allows you to reserve and pay for your bottle service at a nightclub in advance. (Think of it like the popular restaurant application Open Table, but for nightlife.) After three years he decided to pitch his idea on the show that features successful entrepreneurs like Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner), Daymond John (founder of FUBU clothing line), Kevin O’Leary (educational software), Barbara Corcoran (real estate) and Robert Hejavec (technology security) who try to outbid each other to invest their own money and get a piece of a new business. Al ended up with several offers but in the end accepted the offer from Cuban and John – $150,000 for a 30 percent share of the company.
