Once recognized as the epicenter of music in Miami, a place where Thurgood Marshall vacationed and Langston Hughes wrote poetry. Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and many more called Miami a second home. All of the clubs, hotels and commercial centers that lined Overtownโ€™s bustling streets have been demolished through the past couple decades.
