While Questlove was in town spinning at Wall, he was also able to squeeze some time to check out the movie Being Elmo at Miami’s O Cinema independent theater start-up and gave it the ultimate co-sign. Here’s what he said:
O Cinema’s co-founder, Kareem Tabsch, said that Questlove, mentioned to him that he travels regularly and often visits art house type theaters in various cities. “I was totally flattered, especially coming from someone who’s seen as many art houses as he has,” Tabsh said.
O Cinema, at 90 NW 29th Street, was started in February of 2011. It features films from independent filmmakers, as well as many foreign, and niche films, and also displays work from local Miami artists.
