Apple Store on Miami Beach may be moved to Downtown Miami if Miami Beach doesn’t let it build an all new Glass Storefront on Lincoln Road

The City of Miami Beach is trying their hardest to make sure Apple doesn’t take their coveted Lincoln Road location elsewhere. Apple has proposed building a new glass building down the street from its current Lincoln Road storefront, but the city’s Historic Preservation Board pretty much nixed the idea after determining that the new site was housing a building protected from demolition due to its historic nature and significance. Apple is saying “off-the-record” that they have no intentions of moving, but all signs point to building the new “glass” concept store across the bridge in Downtown Miami or Midtown. But again, all of this is hearsay. The Miami Herald has the full story and back and forth between parties, click here to read it.
