This is an interesting exhibit that’s showing at the Miami Dade College run Freedom Tower. Its called Mona Lisa unveiled and its the first time it visits the United States. It features works of various artists, including some famous, that interpreted the Mona Lisa in their own unique and sometimes-odd ways. Above, you see Salvador Dali’s interpretation. And you also have other interpretations by artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Jean Margat, and Romero Britto to name a few.
The exhibit is on loan from the Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, and will be on display from August 26 (now) through October 7.
Mona Lisa Unveiled is split into two parts. The historical section shows inspired works and documents ranging from the 16th to 19th centuries. The modern section follows the painting’s theft from the Louvre in the early 20th Century and features more recent interpretations.
