I’ve seen or passed by this place so many times since I was a freshmen in high school and never ever decided to go in and try them out. Basically, Sango’s, is a Jamaican spot that also serves Chinese dishes. Its an interesting menu to say the least. Half the fam wanted Jamaican food and the other half wanted Chinese food – so how convenient is it that Sango’s was available to solve our problem.
What to go with. Curry anything is off the chain at Sangos. As well as the Jerk. The sides are decent, including the Fry Dumplings, and whatever rice they have. White Rice, Rice & Peas and any of their Fried Rices are all great choices. What stood out though is their tropical jerk wings or whatever they are that they serve by orders of six for $5.99. You don’t even have to wait for those, they are ready to pickup soon as you walk in. And there’s a great selection of Jamaican kolas and other drinks.
Now, what to avoid? Stand clear of the Honey Chicken. I don’t know what in the world it was that they gave us, but it was about $9 for about 14 pieces of what they thought was Honey Chicken. It was more like burned chicken nuggets dipped in sweet coffee or something. Not sure what it was, but avoid it.
Overall, the menu is too extensive so I’m sure you’ll find other delicacies and other fails. But pass by if you’re in the Perrine or Cutler Bay area. Click here for the menu.
