Yesterday, about 168 McDonald’s restaurants around Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties, started serving Cafe Con Leche. Its exclusive to South Florida Mickey D restaurants and is an obvious move to capitalize on South Florida’s heavy Latino population. This is similar to when McDonald’s starting adding a Media Noche sandwich to some of their locations (which was later pulled off the menu). But South Florida locations have been asking for Cafe Con Leche to be added to the menu for a year or so, said Bianca Olivas, McDonald’s Vice President of Operations for Florida. She continued via an email statement: “At McDonald’s, our customers are at the center of everything we do. From time-to-time we enhance our menu with items that are local favorites and uniquely relevant to a community.â€
Prices vary, but it won’t be hard to find the new menu item. Get to drinking!
