Now you would think that models in lingerie tackling the hell out of each other on a football field could create a fan base or at least fill up seats at the stadium, but that wasn’t the case for our very own Miami Caliente Woman’s Lingerie Football League. Founded just three years ago, the Caliente reached the Eastern Conference championship in their first season and lost at the Hard Rock Seminole Hotel & Casino in Hollywood against the Chicago bliss.
Today we bring you some rather “sad†news. The Miami based team seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Some players from the Miami Caliente have already appeared on the roster of other teams and the teams hosted website is no longer in existence. If you go to the Lingerie Football League’s (LFL) official website, you wont find any trace of the Caliente. They’re not on the 2011-12 schedule, but they have tweeted saying they’re “taking a break†and that they “may return next seasonâ€.
Its unfortunate to see a Miami team go, but we all know that this city is famous for its low attendance and support. Even with the three kings, the Heat struggle to have fans in there seats at tip off, usually they just trickle in nearing halftime. Not to mention that most leave early to avoid the downtown post game traffic.
Miami has spoken; leave the hot girls in lingerie to the strip clubs. Sorry Caliente.
